Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thank you for your continued support and prayers. My current promised support has now reached approx. 70% of what would be needed to go to Haiti fulltime. With everything that is going on in Haiti right now, we (the Pearts and I) really don’t know when/if we will be able to go back to Haiti. I met with the leadership of my mission board to talk about the situation. They are supportive of me as I begin to seek the Lord’s guidance regarding a new place to become involved in deaf ministries. Some of the possibilities for me to look into include Ecuador, Peru, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, and Papa New Guinea. I have already reached out to an experienced missionary couple in Ecuador who plan to go to Peru next year to begin a new deaf work there. The possibility of going with them seems like an exciting opportunity. As I contact more of these ministries, I will plan a short-term trip of a few weeks to visit one or more of them. Please pray for me as I open my heart to a new leading and direction from the Lord.

This Past Month:

  • February 15—I taught a workshop on interacting with a deaf patient in a medical office. This was a new experience for me and everyone there seemed to enjoy it.

  • February 26—I attended the annual “Big Deaf Day” Deaf Rally at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Lexington, SC.

  • March 12—I was given the opportunity to present the ministry at a “Fantastic Saturday” at Mountain View Baptist Church in GA.

  • March 16-20—Harvest Baptist Church of the Deaf in Ringgold, GA, held their annual missions conference. It was such a blessing to spend time with the college students and staff and to get to know the other missionaries that were there that week.

  • March 21—On the way back to SC, I stopped by Silent Word Ministries to help get their newspaper ready to be sent out.

  • March 26—Palmetto Deaf Baptist Church in SC held their annual “Deaf Rally.” While there I met several other ladies who are or want to be involved in deaf ministries. Sharing the story of how we became involved with Deaf ministry and the burden that the Lord has given us was very encouraging to me.

In Christ,

Lois Boswell
