Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I have officially been on deputation since the end of May and God has been good. I have been able to present the work in Haiti to five different churches with more scheduled for August. Liberty Baptist Church in Inman, SC, has decided to partner with me in going to Haiti. A couple of weeks ago, I was in a church in Alabama. A dear friend of mine is a member there and it was a blessing to visit with her. Another church member there (who is a Haitian national) expressed to me his interest in supporting me as well.

You may have heard about the recent assassination of the Haitian president. This has created new instability in Haiti. The initial plan of my missionary group was for the men to travel to Haiti in August to assess the situation and for the ladies to follow after that. But after talking with a local Haitian pastor, it seems that it will be better to wait until after the new president has been installed at the end of February. There is much animosity towards foreigners right now. In the coming weeks, several of the local pastors in Haiti are going to meet and discuss the situation. They will give us their opinion of when we should return to Haiti.

In July my home church had our Neighborhood Bible Time (NBT) program. It was as a child during NBT that I first told the Lord that I was willing to be a missionary. And this year I was blessed to teach the missionary story which “just so happened” to be about Haiti. We praise the Lord as four children were saved that week. Things to Prayer For: · That I will be able to schedule more meetings in churches. · That more churches will choose to partner with me in going to Haiti. · For wisdom about when to return to Haiti. · For stability in Haiti and for the ministries that are ongoing.

In Christ,

Lois Boswell
